#2182, "Leather Seats"

Well, for all of you guys who already have leather seats, I just joined the club. I've been longing to find some leather seats from another DSM and finally was able get some for a great deal. The dude who sold them even installed them for me and wired the power driver's seat. I know it doesn't sound like it's that big of a deal, but geeesh...!

Talk about a wonderful and dramatic improvement to my interior. It looks sooo much cleaner and nicer now! The wonderful leather feel and smell now is worth it all. emoji Without a doubt, this type of improvement on the interior is similar to adding new rims to the exterior...i.e. a stunning addition! Also, the seats' lateral support is night and day BETTER! Before, on tirght turns with my old seat, I'd be holding on to my steering wheel a great deal to hold on to my spot in the seat. These current seats have side inserts that grab me and hold me in the "cockpit." It's sooo much nicer.

I'll post pics on my site as soon as I get them taken, although I'm sure you've all probably seen stock leather seats in a DSM. I mostly get preformance junk, but this was one aesthetic improvement that I've been dying for. emoji

how much did you pay for them. ive been looking for some black leather seats to go with my tan and black interior. (id like to get more black and less tan) i found a ad on ebay that sold the kit to convert cloth to leather. it said its what the dealer would install if you went there and wanted leather. unfortunatly it was $600

LAST EDITED ON 17-Mar-01 AT 10:17 PM (PST)

$265 including front and back seats. GREAT CONDITION after I applied leather cleaner and conditioner. emoji

...worth every single penny. I shopped long and hard for these seats at a fair price. BTW, I'd try and get the talon/eclipse seats rather than the avenger/sebring seats. The avenger seats don't have the same lateral bucket support as did the talon seats. Just an FYI b/c the Avenger seats would fit perfectly.

Thats sweet, Leather is SOOO nice isn't it?! Thats no fair cause you have a power driver seat!!! I wish I had power!!! Did you get black or tan? My black leather seats are the best, even in the summer cause they don't get that hot and they cool down fast. But you have a black car so black will be much hotter...cause thats probably what you got. Did you get the Leather door inserts?? Actually I think it's some other material, Mitsubishi is too cheap for that kinda stuf emoji

I use to have a White 99 GS Sport with a Star Stage II Ball Bearing T3/T4 turbo...it was fun untill....well those who remember me know emoji Oh Ya...this is what I have now... a 99' GSX...

i have black leather in a black car... and in summer it is HOTTER THAN HELL. i sit down and feel like my legs are cooking. I got window tints after summer, so hopefully it wont be as bad this year. also, in winter, they are COLD. BUT, in fall and spring nothing beats them! If you dont leave yo9ur car in the sun you won have the hot seat problem, but you cant avoid the cold winter seats unless you let your car warm up for 5-10 minutes.

Yeah, the power driver'sa seat is VERY nice. I played around with it today and it's GREAT! The power switch on the side goes about every way. Now, being a tad tall (6'1"), I can lower the seat some. That's my favorite part not to mention the lumbar support knob on the side (I totally don't want any supprt...heh). The guy who sold em to me totally wired it all in for me and did a great job.

Today, I had my second full day with them and they're GREATER than before! I'm telling ya... that lateral support of the seats is a totally different feel. They do get damn cold however on a cold night. (oh well) I have grey colored seats to totally match my already grey and black interior. The guy I bought them from was a bit shocked to see much of my dash black, while the rest of my interior was grey. I guess it was a newer color combination added in later models or somethng he just hadn't seen before.

Oh, one more thing, he sold me these because he bought a 95 AWD TSI talon from some dude who had flipped his car. Most of the things are gone from this parts car (it's that dark green color like Corbin's), but there were some very nice talon side skirts and door caps that he had pulled off. They look just like mine that are now on my car. I really like em. You might too.

Yuo can go to my website for a pic of them on. They say "16v DOHC turbo" on the side, so take that into account. HE also has a GSX mufler still on the back that would work on everyone's car too. Just not the piping. He's real cool and fair. I don't know the prices, but like I said...it'd be fair. Everything else including the brakes, interior...etc. is gone...heh

By the way, his car is MUCHO fast! (WOW) His super 20g from HRC is plenty quick. I tried to keep up...heh....didn't do badly, but daamn...I've never come across a faster DSM.
