#20934, "Seatbelts?"

I'm almost done painting my interior (practically all black) so what can I do with my seatbelts? Can I dye them? Paint them? or should I just get new ones?

Thanks,
Fearless

everything in my car is now black, and i too have just the seatbelts left. I used plasticote's fabric dye on the seats and worked great. The seatbelts will take this paint very well too. just take the whole seatbelt assembly out and paint it...I used plasticote's "ebony" black..

did you paint all the seats black? Does it feel like they are painted? Would the paint ever run or anything if they got wet? How do they hold up in daily use? Got any pics? Thanks

Well i've only had them done for a week now, so don't really know how durable it is. But its holding up just fine for now. I used the plasticote stuff, and i sprayed several coats on the seat, and used a stiff nylon bristle brush on the seat right after each coat to raise up the fibers on the fabric and to get the dye evenly covered. It did make the seat feel a bit different, but just brush it out again after its dry and vacum it out. Feels almost like stock now..And the stuff really isn't a paint per say, its more of a penetrating fabric dye, so it should never come out when washed or anything...
