Ok, the trunk thing would be totaly unfuntional (to me) but I figured out today while trying to stay awake in class. Ok here it goes........

You need a solinode, large linear actuator, relays, wire, pressure switch(like in your doors to sense when its open) Ok what you would need to do is cook up your hood to a solinode(if you want it on a remote or sumthin) you can have 2 to also actuate the lift up latch too, next with the presure switch, you wana hook it up with a relay so when it gets power it will get the lineral actuator going up. You can mount the linear actuator where the stock intake box was or by the battery, but the further back the actuatot the stronger it has to be. Atach the actuator to to top of the hood on a slider type asembly (I cant explane it, but I can make it) The actuator would stop at the stop asuming you have a limit switch. to go back down, flip a switch to reverse polarity and wala! It goes back down, trips the switch, shuts its self off and locks.

How dose it sound? Posible? It would only be a show thing seeing how the actuator isnt weather proof.

what is it with u and auto everything??? are u that lazy u can't open ur hood? hehehe jp

Personally I don't know how safe that would be. would the mechanisim shutting the hood be strong enough to pull it down and make sure it gets latched shut? if not would it be strong enough to hold the hood down at High speeds. and on top of that.... what about ur hood pins? kinda eliminates purpose of being power if u have to go up front first to remove the hood pins, and then go back afterwards to put them back in. Just some thoughts to maybe help you out. but as far as being all weather.... there are a lot of things under the hood that aren't supposed to get wet or be in bad conditions they are just gaurded well. so it just depends on what u use to protect it.

If you wanted to be sure it closed, and locked good. You could use a trunk latch from a Caddilac, and have it pull the hood closed. Just slot the control arm on the actuator. So when the actuator is a low end, it hits the latch, and the latch pulls it the rest of the way down.

my hood is hooked to silinoid. I just reach through one of the holes in the bumber and push the button and then POP, and its open.
