#20494, "interior dash color"

I just bought a 97 eclipse to replace my 98 eclipse that was totalled like 2 weeks ago, anyways the question is: Is grey a factory color for 97 dashboards and doors? I though the dash only came in black and the door were black/tan. So is this a custom interior paint job or is it factory.

btw this one is a manual emoji no more auto to manual conversion/headache.

From what Ive seen, most 2Gs have grey color dashes. I have seen some with the black/tan combo, but I think they come with the leather option.

most 95-96 are grey. mine used to be blue. some talons come in brown (not tan)

97-99 grey was a stock color. a lot of people on here have that color on 97-99.

you didnt need leather to get the black/tan combination, btw

my 98 has a black dash, and grey color trim on the glove box, and panel under the steering wheel. grey seats and carpet, grey hatch panels, seatbelts, and other plastic trim. The bottom plastic trim around the back speakers is black, and the doors are black with the grey vinyl on the center section. But most of the grey now is almost done with the all black conversion. I have the front seats and carpet left to do black, and i will get some pics up within the week...

Well, i have been using Duplicolor's vinyl and fabric dye on the interior plastic panels that are grey, and it works very well. Its not a perfect match with the black dash, but its VERY close. I think the dash has faded just a little over time, but its reall not that noticable. I used Duplicoror vinyl and fabric FLAT BLACK. They have a vinyl black, but that is too glossy and didn't match very well to stock color. For now, i used Plasticote's fabric color dye "ebony" to do my seats. I just did my rear seats today actually, and it turned out very well. I sprayed it in several light coats, and used a stiff nylon brush to brush the fabric right after i sprayed to lift the fibers and smoothe out the color. Looks very good, and doens't feel like its been painted. For the carpets, i am using a liquid black dye, since i can get it at my detail shop. The liquid dye didn't work well at all on the seats, so i just used the spray cans on that. Hope this helps. i'll have some pics up on here very soon...
