On my 96 when wver I open the passanger side door the lights on the inside turn on for liek a second and then shut off.. also my alarm will re-arm after 30 seconds as if the door was shut.. where is the trigger or wire for thsi in the door? I cant find it for shit its driving me crazy..

I have a similar problem. When I open my passenger door, the interior light don't come on at all. I know the shop that replaced my entire passenger side of the car screwed it up because it hasn't worked since they put a new door in. Where should I start looking?

Both of you guys should check out your door pin switch on the body of the car. Its on the bottom lower part of the door sill, and its a black pin sticking out. My pin went bad, and the dome lights used to flicker cause it was bad. Check that out, one phillips head screw holds it in, and one wire attached to it. It was like 5 bucks or so from the dealer. By sending a ground to that wire, it should light up the lights, so do that with the switch out to see if they work, and if not, then there is a prob somewhere else, but its most likly the switch, since they go bad fairly easily..

if your lights stopped working after a shop worked on your car, then take it back and make them fix it.

There's no way in hell I'd take it back there! Shit! Imagine this, okay. First off, I qwas t-boned on my passenger side. They had to replace the door, rear quarter, all passenger interior including the seats, etc. It took 2 months. The first estimate was 3 weeks. There is not one single piece of repair that was done correctly. Int. door handle wrong color, rear speaker grill wrong color, no interior light w/ pass. door open, side skirts barely hanging on, hatch mis-aligned, sunroof mis-aligned, pass. seat too low and barely move front to back. That's all I can think of. I fixed everything myself rather than going back to that shit. The thing is, it's a quality shop, Autobody of America!

Anyways, I just found out my last and final patch of their work. The problem was a faulty door pin switch. So I'll order a new one or go to the junk yard. Thanks for the tip, extremeRS!

wow~!!! what a coincidence..I was t-boned by a benze a while back.. but it took out my whole driver side, and the funny thing is that my insurance didn't total my car either.. funny \i guess.. I had to replace the windshield also cause it was cracked. even the dash was replaced since it was "stressed fractured".. but good thing is my insu covered everything.. shoot.. I would want to exchange pics with you if you have them.. just to see what the passenger side looks like after getting t-boned.
