#1977, "Should I remove my pinstripe???"

Hey guys..I need your opinion on something. I have a Barcelona Red Eclipse with a tan pinstripe down the side. The car came that way from the dealer. It doesn't look bad or anything..it's a thin stripe. But.....There are numerous chips in the pinstripe and it is starting to look kinda crappy. Now should I remove it? Or will me removing it make the paint look weird because all the paint will be faded except where the stripe was?? Would it be fixable if it was removed like with a buffer and some compound? Sorry for the long post...hope you can help me...Thanks.
Rob (GSsport)

Well, it lookes like your a GS Sport:-) so your a 99', and that means that your paint shouldn't be faded at all. At least not noticable. I have a GS Sport as well, and if your pinstripe is looking crappy, then you should take it off. That just makes the rest of your car look crappy. just my 2. cents

I use to have a White 99 GS Sport with a Star Stage II Ball Bearing T3/T4 turbo...it was fun untill....well those who remember me know emoji Oh Ya...this is what I have now... a 99' GSX...

I'd remove it if it were me. I took the graphics off my brother's 94 Ford Splash(black) and with some good pollish and a few coats, you couldn't tell the difference. If you take care of your finish, you shouldn't have any problems. You might want to heat the pine striping up a little with a blow dryer, it comes off easier.

I have a 99 silver. I took mine off to get flames on the sides. It didn't show any fade. Just buy some oops or goo gone to help wipe off the residue.
