i wanted to take the spare tire holder out of the well
and i know you said you need to drill out the 20 or so spot welds and then fill the holes with cold weld...my question is how do you know where to drill? i cant tell where the welds are, will it work if i just drill a lot of holes all the way around it? also, what size bit did you use? any help would be much appreciated.

yes I would drill holes all the way around the piece. You should be fine and JB weld that sucker back together from the holes. I have yet to do mine soon actually.

if you take everything out, and sand the ledges, you will see the spot welds, as far as drilling them out, go buy a spot weld drill bit and do it, works alot better, took me like an hour to do my trunk and people can tell you how big of a retard i am

Ya they are just like little circles. I used various drill bits. Get good ones or you will round them out real quick. You can see it without any sanding. It just looks like a circle dimple thing smaller than a dime. Maybe half the diameter of a dime. Also, use cold weld because it solidifies a silver color and bonds really well to metal. It's better than JB weld from what I'm told at least for sealing up metals. I also spray painted some primer on the spots I drilled out in hopes of preventing any rusting.
