#19346, "New custom short ram intake..sort of..(pics inside)"
Well i made my own intake setup today, to see if i could get any power differences between my other 3" pvc cold air intake setup. I wanted something a little nicer looking, but didn't want to spend the cash since a turbo is in the near future. I went to Autozone and picked up a universal cone style air filter for 20 bucks. I then used 1/16" thick stainless steel for the intake piping support bracket. I used Bosch electric powered metal cutting shears to make all the cuts, and for the circular cut too. Made the bends using a vice, and my hands, and a workbench ledge. I took the car out afterwards, and definately noticed a little gain in the top end pull. I was kinda surprised, but the butt dyno don't lie I will be polishing up the stainless, and rounding off the edges soon too. Here are some pics of my ultra cheap, not badd looking short ram intake setup.
