how many coats of primer should I put on before I have the shop paint. Other than primer what should I do to prep it for painting. I want to save as much money as poss. any ideas?

You really should have a body shop prep it unless you're very experienced with kits. You have to sand it all down, then add putty to smooth out any small cracks or imperfections, then primer it. I guess you can do it yourself, but if you're paying a lot for the paint job, you should let them prep it if they;re professional...
