#19076, "Cut off 1.5" & welded my Stock Shifter (Looks & Feel Awesome)"

Hey everyone. I just came back from a Muffler Shop. The owner there
just cut off 1.5-1.75" of my shifter and Welded it back on. It' Looks
and Feel Awesome. It's really short and shifts really nice. I just
followed the instructions posted in the MODS Section Labeled Short
Shifter Part 2. Took 5 minutes to cut and weld and 10 minutes to take
off the lever and put it back on. So simple and the coolest thing is
the owner didn't charge me anything. Yup he did it for FREE.

I was going to get the Symbroski Shift Kit but wanted to see how this
feel first. (Someone earlier said to just take off the rubber piece
on the mount. Not sure what he/she ment? If that rubber piece is
there in the first place then there must be a reason why it. I can
see REPLACING that piece with something else like the piece that
comes with the Symbroski Kit but just removing it...I don't know.

Has anyone done this MOD.

Thanks,
Mike

I too cut and welded my own shifter, and it really makes a good difference. I also have the symborski shifter kit, and that really makes a difference too. More exact shifts, clunks into each gear nicely, and gets rid of some play too. Great mod for 30-40 bucks..
