#17756, "Rims - 17's or 18's???"

The other day I ordered some Konig Blatant 17 x 8 rims with some Yokohamas, but they are on backorder. Its gonna take 4-6 weeks for either 17's or 18's. What size do you guys think I should go with. Keep in mind that I live in Michigan where the roads are shity and have potholes all over so 40 series tires may be a bit too thin. I'll either go with the 18's with 40 series tires, or stay with the ones I ordered (17's with 50 series tires). Any input is appreciated.

225/45/17 or 225/40/18 wouldn't be too bad. Thats what I am going with. Roads are bad here in North Dakota also emoji

Stick with 225/40 series tires on the 17's, you will get the best performance in any situation(so car and driver says) and it will fill the well fine with a drop around 2.25-2.5.

Hey wasuup matt..I just got my 17's, and 225 45's, and the size is perfect. Excellent handling, and with the H&R sport springs, the wheel gap is very nice. I wouldn't go with 18's for performance reasons, plus, i think anyting larger than a 17, look a tad bit too big IMO. With a drop, the 17's look perfect. And by rolling the fenders, sometimes you have to do this in the rear. I might have to, but if you look at the rear fender well, there is a metal lip just inside of the top of the fender. You can take a baseball bat and use the tire as a lever and push up on the metal lip. If i would go over a big bump, i could see that the tire could hit this lip if not rolled. I'm gonna do it soon just to be safe. Hit me up on AOL IM sometime--eclipsed4evr is the SN. Lata man..

Yeah i got 17s with 215/45 17s. Performance wise its great, I have yet to squeal the tires. I think they look plenty big myself, I had ot check to make sure they were 17s.

IMO i like the 17x7s they look great, you said there was alot of potholes around you, it's the samehere, 18's are to easy to break if you hit potholes to hard.
