Alright, I'm really getting tired of the hatch cover rattling all the time. Does anybody have a fix that works? I already tried lining the edges with foam, but that just compresses and then flatens out. Thanks in advance.

Install a rear upper strut tower bar and then put the minature seatbelt shoulder pads on the bar. Slide them inward until the left one lines up with the metal crossbar on the underside of the rear hatch cover and the same for the right one. When you close your rear hatch, the hatch cover will rest slightly on the STB before the car hatch locks in. You will not have to adjust your hatch lock and the fit will be snug. Your hatch cover will never again rattle and will look nifty when you open it up to reveal those little mitsu/ralley art/eclipse pads. If you cannot find any of these on the net, S&A Motorsports(501-450-6333) sells them for around $10-12 per set. He even has the rear upper bars in stock as well. Now the secret is out.

Thats pretty damn ingenious DeanoD! I'm off to throw some crappy seat belt pads on my rear upper strut bar. Thanks for the tip!

Well man, that fix won't work for me. The strut bar I have back there sits about 2 inches lower than other bars. The mounting brackets for the Tenzo bar are different.
