I am going to be buying a short sifter soon and would like to know if anyone has installed one. If so was it pretty easy or should I just have it done professionally? Thanks for your help.

Get a Hurricane_GS short shifter (look him up, it's his membership name).
You may also want to order a Symborski Shift Kit from Mach V motorsports www.machv.com .
Installation was mostly easy. IMO, not worth hiring our for as it was simple enough if you have the tools, patience and can follow the instructions, which are pretty good.
The trickiest part was with one of the four bolts holding in the shifter plate. It was covered by the shift cables so I could not use a socket, but had to use an open ended wrench. Do-able, but it just took more time.
Also be careful with the spring on the shift lever and make sure you put it back in place properly.
Start to finish, installing both, can be done in one to two hours.
And both installs make a noticable differnce and make the car more fun to drive.
Hope this helps.

I also bought the B&M... works nice but not worth the 150 bucks IMO. There are a couple out there for cheaper, or get one from hurricane. Oh and I also have the symborski kit, and I could tell a difference. If the whole install takes you more than 40 minutes I'd be surprised.

Yeah, I got glenn's(aka. hurricaneGS) short shifter and the symborski kit. I am new at installing things myself and I must say this was really easy. The short shifter should take you like 20 minutes if you just get it. If you get the shift kit too its a little more difficult cause of that one bolt that was mentioned earlier. They are both worth the money though and its a easy install.

The wait at this point is still kind of long. emoji People are not returning the core shifters fast enough. emoji I am still trying to get a few more "spares."

Glenn's shifter is well worth the wait. I have one with the symborski shifter kit and I love the shift. I can shift gears with a flick of my wrist.
