That color is WAY too far off. I'm sorry, but it's not gonna match even if you let the paint cure and then color sand and buff it (color sand and buff only mainly gets rid of extra drips of clear and orange peel, and makes the color shinier, but won't change the basic color). They put way too much gold pearl in it most likely, and not enough blue. The bumper looks like a pure silver, whereas the stock is more of a bluish silver with a gold pearl in it. Did he spray the paint straight from a premixed can? You always have to color match it and mix in other colors when you repaint parts of an older car, so that may be why.

Usually, even fresh out of the paint booth, it looks like a perfect match. Like this one accord that was white with blue pearl (hard to match the pearl), we saw it the day after it was painted, and it was a perfect match even though only the rear part of the car was repainted.

I would take it back to that guy and ask him to repaint it the right color, or if he doesn't know how to match the paint, take it somewhere else that has a really good painter that can match it...good luck.

Oh I just thought of something else too. Did he spray a primer over the green color of the bumper (it was grneclipses old one right?). If he didn't spray enough base coats, the original green paint may also have caused the silver to be off.

i second what marcus says because you can see the paint matches on teh left side where the light is hitting it which means that the depth is probably off on the paint (not enough base coats) or either lack of pearl is cause the color to looks darker when there is no light hitting it...take that shit back before its too late

Aren't the 95-96 silver and 97-99 silver different paint codes and colors? Maybe he used the 95-95 silver on your car. Or like Galant silver or something. Those are two different colors.

Ya I always thought that the 95-96 silver was more goldish (more gold pearl), but I remember someone saying that they were all the same for all four years. The 97-99 silver looks more bluish to me though.

Im with everyone on this. Could have been the lack of primer or the color matching. I hate color matching because most placs cant do it, thats why I repainted my entre car rather then have a few sections painted and have them match my factory color.

Looks like the guy did a great job fabricating it to fit your 97+ style.

Sun damage is a major factor in matching paint, but TJ, yur paint was in excellent condition. I didnt even think that was a factory color it looked so good.

I gotta agree with everybody else on here Hondahater, paint (at least from the angle you shot it at) does not match up that well, HOWEVER, maybe it looks better from different angles?? Let's see those pics as well as the rear skirts.
