i got skirts from a 99 and need to get them on a 96, there are no holes, how do i make holes?

drill, ive never done it myself so no pointers from me, but yeah id use a drill

yeah as far as making holes, a drill tends to be the best way to make one...ice picks and pencils dont work really well

ice picks??? na u should do it the OG way. just get a gun a blast a few holes in the ride and u got some perfect holes to mount ur caps and skirts.

i just warmed up the tip of a pointy branch from a tree with my car lighter... it did wonders.

but no, seriously, you should use a measuring tape and measure EXACTLY how far each clip needs to be, then draw on your car with a sharpie. before you actually drill, i'd hold the side skirt up to see if it looks aligned straight.

I installed mine myself, what I did was place all the little plactic grommets in their mounting slots on the side skirt panels, then starting with the first sort piece I dabbed a little white paint on the tip of the grommet and lined it up with the lines of the car and I made the mark with the paint on the side of the car, that gave me the drill point. The rest of the skirts were done in a similar way (paint the grommet tips, line it up, make the mark, then drill. After you do all that you have to drill screws on the bottom parts of the skirts into the car. Although a little ghetto, mine came out to be a perfect fit and I saved myself 100 bucks, but if you're still not completely sure of what you are doing then take it to a body shop.

How much room do you have to drill up into the car? I am getting some skirts soon and I don't want to break anything.

a 1/2 inch deep will do fine with stock grommets.

Me and Abe did it the exact same way, I put black paint on my tips and than line up and pressed against car and drilled where the paint was. When you drill it takes about 5 seconds and than you are done. What you are drilling through is a very very thing sheet of metal and than its hollow. You have to put some pressure on the drill to get through but once it starts going than its easy. I only drilled 2 holes for each skirt because it was -10 degrees that day. I will finish this summer sometime. All in all it took less than 2 hours.

Abe, how did you get the highest pieces of the skirt to stick. Did you drill in the side of the car? I tried using 2 sided tape but it was too cold. I am not sure if it will stick when its warmer or what.

are you talking about the top part right next to the door? mine doesnt stick too well and its not flush to it. i can press it against the body, but it will just move back

It sounds like you need to tighten your bolts. Or are you talking about the door caps?

How hard are door caps to install? Do they bolt on or just glue on or something? Do you need to take off the rear wheel to install side skirts? That's not a problem for me to do or anything, just wondering.

bolts? there are no bolts except for on the bottom and those are really screws. its the clips. they break easily

Hmmmm, try some washers in between the screws and the gromets. Maybe that'll snug them up a little better.

Hey Jeff, I used to think your car was white for some reason. Now that I see it's silver, we might have silver door handles. We shaved the handles on that one eclipse with the drift kit back in the day, and the handles should be laying around somewhere. But when I was painting my car, we couldn't find the handles from that car, so I don't know if it's still laying around or not. I'll try to look for it over spring break.

Yeah Marcus hook it up if you can, that would be great.

Gregg, the only screws on the entire side skirt install go in the fender wells and the rest are little plastic pieces that pop out somewhat easy but 6 of them hold the skirt in very well.

I did not install door caps, either did fauchpj, PuRe RaGe, or hondahater21. I think it looks much better especially if you fill in that line that is supposed to line up with door caps. Installing door caps would be kind of hard I think. I wouldn't trust myself doing it. Without door caps the skirts look very aftermarkety<--(new word).

Acutally door caps are pretty easy to take on and put off. They are supposed to use some clips, but some people (like the gunmetal rudora eclipse) just purely used double sided tape. You could do that and it would be easy.

Sorry, no green eclipse body parts at all...
