I bought an eclipse less than a year ago, and I wasn't into cars at all. Now I want to do so much to it. I heard I can buy a kit for about $200, but will I be able to lower it myself?

It's fairly easy to do. You will need some equipment to compress the front springs though. I wouldn't recommend doing it yourself unless you have someone who'd done it before helping you.

Our stock springs aren't compressed that much. I had Klipzracer help me with mine. The hardest part is breaking factory torch on all the bolts to get everything off. all we did was sit the strut (shock?? whatever the spring goes around ;P) on the ground, and I held the spring together while he unscrewed the cap. Sounds dangerous, but then again, the springs aren't that compressed stock whise, so you don't really need a spring compressor. We put Eibach Sportlines on mine, but no matter which brand, they'll be smaller than stock so it's cake from then on out.
