follow the two red wires into the plug, after the plug you will see two wires, one is green. the green wire is the hot wire. this applies for all gauge lighting in the car, just connect your + of your led to there -- well your resister of course -- and your - to the other wire (NONGREEN) and you'll be set. emoji

but should they both put out a current of 12V???
i used a voltometer and put the pos to the wire and the neg to a gound in the car. they both put out 12V

but when i put the pos to one wire then the neg to the other....
no voltage

also my hv/ac lights don't work as it is. thats my main reason for doing this. i'm thinking that there might be a short.

also my gauge lights don't work..... i had to ghetto right the ash try light wires to run up to the gauges then put the wires into the bulbs to get 'em to work. then when i did that. the hvac lights worked again.

few months later i noticed i have no hvac lights.....
i'm thinking something is wrong

couldn't i just run it from any 12V src that turns on w/the lights?

then put it to a suitable ground.

like i did my gauges
