#1620, "A good idea for Talon owners"

What up guys...
I have had an idea that i haven't seen on the message board for talon owners...I've always wanted to do the conversion of my back end talon bumper and rear tail lights to eclipse rear bumper and altezzas...
i saw it on the message board and i was like "no way someone else thought of this idea as well"

Another idea i thought of is that right now with talon rear lights only the bottom half of each side light up. (What i mean is only the red on both sides light up.
The yellow flashers and the whole middle area don't light up...Imagine if you could wire it or add lights to have the whole thing lite up at night...the top half would be lit up in yellowish and the bottom part would be all lit up in red! I'm telling you it would look good and original...a cop magnet but who cares...ytou could make it so that you could turn them on and off with a switch inside the car...when the coast is clear ...you flick'em on...

Is the center part where it says "talon" hollow? Could a light be installed in the left and right flickers and middle? what do you guys think?
also how do put in a jpeg/picture when i post?
please reply...
raj

thanks for the compliment, i used to think the same way about spoilers. i had the giant two-level veilside RX7 spoiler on there, sold it and just about bought the kaminari spoiler till i realized how much i hated spoilers. i love the clean look of no spoiler on our cars. the pics dont even do it justice, see one in person and its so smooth and follows the lines of the rear fenders perfectly.
yeah the wheels are 19s, i wanted to sell them and go 20 but i decided to save the money and go turbo instead.

oh yeah about the headlights. i took them apart to clear the turn signals and then you just unscrew the housing, sand it up, and paint away with some hi-temp paint. i used Dupli-Color Hi Heat Ceramic blue paint and krylon clearcoat. then seal it back up with some silicone and thats it. you should see those things at night with my hiper xenon bulbs. the blueish tint of th eblbs reflects off the blue headlight housings and makes like a violet pearl looking color. i still havent managed to take a picture that captures this color, its like trying to take a picture that really shows off the paint on a pearl or chamelion painted car, very dificult. so needless to say you will be happy with the results if you paint your headlights

what did i do? lol honestly i would go with darkones setup rather than mine ...mine is specific for the altezzas where as his is for the factory center piece . when i made my center piece light up i had only the reflectors in mind ( i used the 194 bulbs ) ..you want the entire center piece to glow ...for the whole center piece to light up correctly you would need a large bulb ( not recommended cause it might melt the reflector) or even a small neon light which could look very good ...get a white neon light lets say 12" long and set it up in the center piece ... that would with out a doubt make the entire center piece glow yellow, look into the neon light before looking for bulbs.

thanks alot oracle and cyan...you guys are he bomb...

Cyan:

You're totally right..the no spoiler looks so good...but it can't be pulled of by anybody...you've gotta have at least 18's and you must be lowered nicely...the reason i say so is because i know i couldn't pull it off...anyways if you would of changed your rims in so you could ride on dubs you'd be straight mackin'...anyways thanks for all the help...

Oracle:

You're right i'm gonna start lookin for a light i could install...i was thinking....how about those small christmas tree lights? You know there is like 20 on a wire? do you think those things get too hot? Did your altezzas for your eclipse not come with lights already in the light for your middle peice?? I was looking at the back of my talon and i'm not sure if the middle part of the lights are/is hollow? and i don't know how to get in...
raj
check out my website guys...there are photos of me and my car and some skateboard photos plus i think photo page 4 or 5 has photos of some sick rides in my hood

i honestly dont know a thing about the talons light setup but if it is anything like the eclipses it should be hollow .. try following these instuctions http://www.2gnt.com/files/illuminatedtail.htm
the only reason i would swing away from little light bulbs is because of the area you are dealing with .. the little bulb would only make it look semi lit up ..where as the long neon light would illuminate almost all of the center piece ..

see how these lights look? now picture a white neon bulb behind the talon center piece ...it would glow to no end ...stay away from bulbs when trying to lite up an entire center piece
