Alright, I'm sick of buying blue map, after blue map light because they burn out in 30mins of use. So is there a way to hook 2 LEDS into where the map lights go?? Think it would give off good light and stuff?

Thanks,
Mike.

someone had tried that but i dont think it will work too well for much reading use so to speak... but i sorta have a better idea.. go find some sheets of transparent blue plastic.. the darker the better but not to dark.. and then take out the clear lens and cut pieces of that plastic to fit in there.. this will alow the regular bulbs to shine through and create light according to the color of the plastic.. now to make it really blue you might need to put a few layers of the plastic depending on how dark the plastic is.. i used 1 layer and it created a nice whiter light. but im sure that you will be able to create a decent blue light that is still usable for a light source. i did this with some green in a friend of mines car and used a few layers and it looks sweet.

where do you get the plastic and what is the name of it? I painted the lights with blue sharpie and it works but but its light and I want it to be really really blue. I haven't tried sliding on one of those stobe boots that are blue over it wonder how blue this would make it? lemme know about plastic.

accually i just went to like office max and found one of those colored plastic folders and cut it up.. the only problem if it is too dark is that it might not be very bright.. but experiment and try it out.. NOTE: this only really applies to those that dont have sunroofs because they use lighting on the rear-view mirror and those smaller enclosures that the lights are in tend to get very hot, so im not sure how well plastic would hold up in there.. but the theory of it working the same applies..
