I got bored and I hate the way they look so they are now gone well almost I still gotta bondo it againg and sand alot but it should be done next time I actualy get a day to work on it. I will post pics whenever I get around to take some and getting them developed (I don't have a digital so I got to do it the old fashion way). I also started to sand the roof to bare sheet metal for when I paint the car this summer. As of this moment about 1/4 of my car is primer and slowly all of it will be so I will have to pimp the body kited primered eclipse for a few months emoji . I am slow shaving everything and will update as my project slowly goes further.

BTW I still have pics coming of the custome stock wing molded into a 1pc wing.

Umm you don't need to sand down to sheet metal to repaint your car. It will just rust if you don't primer it. You only need to sand down the clear coat, and your base coat acts as a primer. Also, did you use any sheet metal to shave those roof lines? If you don't weld sheet metal, I don't know if the bondo will crack as the roof flexes when you do extreme cornering...

I was told that it is recomended to sand to bare metal then primer that and paint. In all the areas I have sanded I put a nice layer of primer on so it would not rust. I used fiberglass and then a thin layer of bondo should work and resist craking. If it does crack I will just redo it.

Usually the sanding to bare metal method is only needed if it's an older car with paint that is seriously deteriorating, or the metal is rusting. It's a lot of work, especially having to primer it good after you sand it...good luck

yeah it is alot of work. I just did the back part of the roof and it took the good part of a day. I may or may not do the rest of the car it depends on when I get my kit in and don't feel like sanding anymore.

yeah man, just sand down the factory clear coat. If you go down to bare metal you first have to lay down some etching-primer and then some poly-primer. That is two extra steps you don't have to do if you just sand the clear.

I would definetly weld the roof lines. I bet you will paint you car and then they will crack. If i were i would weld them now before you paint.

What color are you going w/? And what kind of kit?

Ya I think welding is the only safe way to go. If you think about it, the roof flexes more than the side of the car. Like when you shave moldings, you weld over the holes, or else it will crack. Same thing with the trunk. I don't see how the roof lines would be any different, especially since they are huge long indents, not just small holes you want to cover...

well consediring they are almost done it is a little late to weld I am not painting it for a few months so if they crack by then I will redo it if not and they crack after I paint it it's just a reason to repaint the car again for next season.

Hehe, ya you should try painting evan's car emoji It's a lot harder than it seems, and takes years of experience to really do it right. The way you spray it makes a big difference too. There are painters that painted all their life but still suck...
