I just bought some m3 style mirrors in black what will it cost me to get them painted? How should they be painted? Do they need to be primed and have a clearcoat? Also same Question for the door handles

Primer is optional. Wet sand it, and primer would be a good idea I guess. Paint and clear coat for a pair of mirrors would probably be around 50 bucks using PPG paint, door handles would be a LOT more unless you can take them off the car (including the lock). It's a real pain to take off the lock and try to reinstall it afterwards.

it was like 175 for my mirrors and door handles to be painted

200 for the shop to take off handles, paint, re-install, take off my mirrors, paint M3 style mirrors, and install them. They said the mirrors were a pain.

why did the shop say the m3 mirrors were a pain? Hard to paint or put on?

both, painting between the 2 "stems" and figuring out how to remove the stockers. Body shops here suck ballz.
