I saw some RIT dye in a store. Will this work? I know you are supposed to wash the fabric to cure the dye into the carpet or material. Could you just pour hot water on it or hand wash it?

I would like to know too. I want to dye my tan carpet black. That tan is way to hard to keep clean.

I just wanna color scheme mine. Grey doesn't fit well with black silver and blue. Every other grey interior part got the silver treatment, some small black parts went blue, and the black upper dash stayed black. I wanna do my cargo cover and carpet blue. Anyone know? I want it to be permanent and don't care to buy new carpet.

well 9d9 i used vinyl spray stuff to dye it.. and it came out sweet.. cept after u step on it lots it comes off.. buy the dye u talk ok might work.. but it might not..

i was going to try to find a good enough material and just make my own carpet.. i mean it shouldnt be that hard..

its once piece just take out the stock one and cut it to fit.. can stuff extra under moldings..

or i was going to get some type of black felt or something stronger.. adn they have this stuff called fabric hardner.. see if it would work..

you lay the fab over the stock carpet and spray it so it hardens up and fits in all the dips and such.. im not saying it would work just a idea

I have some tan carpet remnants out in the garage. I'll test it on that and see what happens.

I'm going to try it on some spare carpet. If it works, I'll let you all know. I am going to try and hand wash it outside with a bucket of hot water and some suds.
