#1182, "How do you roll back the fenders??"

OK....thats enought with the rear tires rubbing the fenders. How do you roll back the rear fenders so that the rear tires dont hit it anymore?? I've heard about using bats? How would I do that with a bat? Stuff it in there and pry the fender inwards? Any other suggestions?

I don't know about rolling back for that I think you need some one to cut the sheet metal and bend it up.

You can use a baseball bat to roll the fenders "out." It gives you a fender "flare". put the bat against the tire and against the insid eof the wheel well and push the bottom of the bat moving the top towards you, it will pull the fender out away from the tire. Just be careful and go show and you can get a nice fender flare and eough room for your tires.

... and the way just about everyone does it, and the recommended way. When I 1st did mine I used a rubber mallot and lightly tapped until I got comfortable then started nailing it. It's good for bigger tires and gives a very aggressive look to your car, especially if it's lowered.

I REALLY need a Digital camera and or Scanner. I have a lot of things I want to show you guys. I rolled my fenders 1st before I even got on the Ol' Mesage Board, it really looks mean too. I also have some switches mounted inside for a cool look, they activate my indigloes and anything else I hook them up to. Soon it will include my Reverse lights(they have a mind of their own).

Michael_97RS: I sill haven't forgotten those speaker pics of my rear and my baattery relocation.

Cool, did you flare front and rear or just rear?

Yeah I made a custom switch panel in mine too right under the radio. I control the light on my three guages on my a-pillar. a couple to disable the stupid chime when the door is open and keys in for when I wash the car and listen to music. and a few others.

The battery relo is going to take place once the weather is warmer, and I can afford the Optima. Summer probably.

Both flared but just the rear rolled. The front I kept the BS plastic, for fear of debris hitting anything the plastic would've protected. There is a place where the debris could hit the engine and other pieces, and I would've just rather prevent any possibilities.

...and Michael_97RS a couple questions for you: I'm just learning the electronics of my car. Could you tell me, if possible, what you did for the other switches for controlling the annoying audibe sound and such. I spend a lot of time detailing my car's Tan interior(grabs dirt like a magnet) so my door is left open a bunch as well. I listen to RAP so besides car washing I love the low rumble of subs bumpin' 1800W of Three-6 Mafia's "Tongue Ring" when cleanin' the car(hehehe). All that without that annoying (almost deffened) door-ajar beep would be a helping hand.

Here's what I did:

The switch that controls the interior light and chime is on the door sill on the bottom towards the rear. when the door is open the circuit is grounded to the body, the circuit completed and the chimes sounds and the kight goes on. I spliced into the wires and put a switch to stop the signal.

1. Unscrew the buttom on the door, rubber boot over switch.
2. Pull switch out and there are two wires one red one orange. One is the chime the other is the light. (sorry I don't remember which does which) I spliced into both anyway.
3. I cut the wires and crinped on quick disconnects from Radio Shack so I can pull the switch out if I every want to.
4. I used think speaker wire (as small as you can find will work) an then crimped on connectors and plugged into the two ends from the switch.
5. Run the wires to where ever you want the switch, and plug into a single pole single throw switch

I know these directions suck, so ask any questions you have, or if you have a fax machine I can fax you some diagrams which I can draw you actally make some sense.

Oh yeah, Let me know if want me to let you know about the other switches I wired in.

Lights for Oil Pres, Oil Temp, Voltmeter that only come on when the switches are on and the parkings lights are on. Amp on/off, Radar detector on/off, Fan on amp on/off (this one I'm going to redo).

I want to redo my panel that I have them mounted to, and put themon plexiglass with a grahic printed on clear plastic overhead material. that's black with lettering describing each switch and back light it when the lights are on. That's a ways n the future, Probably do that when I get the Indiglo guage faces.. which won't happen until Autometer comes out with lunar series. Well I'm abbling now later.
