#11019, "Urethane body kits"

It seems to me that almost every car that I've seen IN PERSON with a kit looks kinda tacky because FG looks too much like cheap plastic. Now maybe the people I've come across have all had crap kits, and if this is so then I guess FG would be ok from a good company, but does anyone know where I can find urethane kits. The only thing I know so far is the Wings West Aggressor front bumper, and something about it doesn't look right to me. Oh, and I also saw the Stillen bumper, but that looks too old school for me. Any others? I like Buddy Club, Street Fighter, etc. designs but I'm looking for something in urethane. Side skirts and rear as well.

Any help?

Thanks

The problem isn't the kit. The problem is who they bought the kit from. All the good manufacturers (VIS, wings west, stillen) use urethane. Other people copy them with FG. Chances are your buddies went the cheap road and got knockoffs and didn't pay the extra to make them look good (they can be sanded and shaved to look better). A quality urethane kit will cost double a FG kit.

Actually, VIS uses fiberglass, just read it on their site.

yeah, vis uses fiberglass. Wing's West agressor bumper for us is made of fiberglass too. The only bumpers that are urathane are the Stillen and now the BLITZ. The only urathane sides and rears the the stock ones.

Plus, fiberglass is better anyways, since you can modify it and fix it if necessary. And paint goes onto fiberglass better than urethane.

fiberglass is easier to work with, takes paint better, and is more rigid. Urethane can warp and not fit the car right, and if it doesn't fit, it is near impossble to modify it. Fiberglass can be worked with in a # of ways. I have the erebuni shogun front, and I have scraped about 3 times, and 2 were really hard by being a dumbass and not being careful in my driveway and a parking lot. I haven't busted it yet. So, it is pretty durable.

You scraped your kit a couple of times huh...

I just got my full Blitz kit, and all the pieces are so thin that it seems like it will snap if a pebble hits it.

I was wondering if I should send it back and go for urethane???

when I got my blitz kit the fiberglass was thick. I wouldn't want a kit that is thin cause it will crack easily
