Help...I'm trying to hook up a new head unit deck to replace my stock 1995 cassette deck!

I don't know what the middle four wires do should do (but I see where it's connected to on the wiring diagram):

blue wire - ignition wire???
black wire with yellow stripe - meter and guages wire
green wire with white stripe - taillight wire
red wire - ????????????

Can someone lend me some knowledge? emoji

Out of these four wires I need to know which wires go to my deck as: ignition wire, battery wire, and dimmer control wire...

OH, I'm hooking up a kenwood KRC-605.

thanks!

Did you cut off the stock radio plug? It would be helllaaa easier to just get the plug adapter and just match up wire colors...cake emoji

the blue is your remote, for a power antenna, amp, or other such item. not sure about the green/white or the black/yellow. and the red wire is your switched one, that goes to your accessory's on your ignition or fuse block.

typically, the universal hook up is:

red: switched
black: ground
yellow: constant 12v
blue: remote
orange: dimmer

i can tell ya better, if ya tell me what you do know for sure (power wise, and speaker wise)

I know that the blue wire is a pretty think wire and from the wiring diagram it shows it comes from the ignition.

I also know that black wire with yellow stripe goes to the meter and guages.

And the green wire with white stripe turns on the parking/taillights...

in that case, the blue is your switched, from the ignition. the black/yellow is your dimmer, and the green/white is your back light. go straight to the battery with the red, it seems to be the constant. *i am in no way responsable for exploding sterios* check and make sure somebody else agrees with this
