#105639, "Stock Lugnut Replacement"

So, the threads on one of my lugnuts are toast.

I need a replacement but I can't seem to find the same design at O'Reillys, Autozone, etc. I have the 16" Talon stockers with the "floating washer" design. The only replacements I could find don't have that washer and instead are just tapered where they screw into the stud. I would hate to go to the dealer for a simple thing as a lugnut but, I can't find anything similiar to stock and am concerned they will tighten up the wheel appropriately.

Thoughts?

The tapered lugs are for steel wheels only. Aluminum wheels use the design lug you are looking for. I got mine at autozone, but I had to buy 16 of them which cost me about $85. They arent cheap..

If I had stock wheels, I would have those.

Toyota makes an open-ended lug nut that works also.

For OEM wheels.

i have the 4g eclipse wheels on mine with stock lugs and had a set of locks that were the same style, with the floating washer. i lost the key to the locks, so once i was able to get the locks off i could not find the other 4 stock lugs so i just used 4 standard tuner style lugs that you have to have the spline key to use. there are designed for aftermarket wheels but have had them on there for over a year with no issues. as long as you just use 1 per wheel and have 4 stock lugs, you should have no issues.

This is not recommended. Just buy a set of aftermarket replacement lug nuts from Dorman, Advance, RockAuto, etc.

i know its not "recommended", just saying i have done it with no problems. i periodically re-torque them just to make sure they havnt loosened up at all and they never have. now i wouldnt do that with all the lugs, thats just asking for trouble, but just doing one has been fine on mine.
