Good luck with the paint. Are you going with the original color or something different?

I would like to point out that this is three years of me talking Mikey into making his car clean and stock!

Ask Slo2g, I have treated Mikeys car like my own

One time it was in my garage for a timing belt change and I de stickered the whole car and took off the damn tail light covers

Gonna look beast Mikey!

really though, that black eclipse I had,had a $600 maaco paint job, it didn't look bad for the price, i mean sure I had some minor imperfections you couldn't see unless you looked for them...My one time experience with maaco, wasn't bad at all...

BTW Mike, you really need to adjust your sunroof. From that pic above, I can tell it is way off. The back of the sunroof should be about 1mm above the roof line, while the front should be about 1mm below.

Do yourself a favor and use some threadlock on those 6 torx bolts as well, or before you know it, you will be adjusting again.

Been there done that. Wait at least 2 or 3 years and let me know what it looks like. Maaco uses crap materials and the painters there put no time into prep work. The car comes out looking nice but after a few months/years of being exposed to the elements, the clear coat starts to peel, paint starts to fade, and your bumpers will start to chip and flake due to their lack of using any flex agents.

It's all in the prep/finish work. If you do the prep and finish work yourself and pay a little extra for extra coats of clear to polish the crap out of then you can get a decent result from Maaco. Basically you have to bring them a shell that's already had the glass and trim removed and all the prep work done, then expect to spend just as much time finishing and sealing the paint to keep it nice.

Of course by the time you've done all that you could have saved up for a good paint job somewhere else.

Another option is to paint it yourself. The Duplicolor paintshop paints seem to be pretty decent quality IMO, and with the proper prep/finish you can end up with a good looking car for cheaper than Maaco.

Wow, that's crazy. Do you have to wet sand and buff after the paint job from them too? Lol. For all that work you might as well just do it yourself and save IMO.
