wanting to put a sound system in my wife's 97 spyder, but she dont want a sub taking up trunk space, maybe ill get a shallow mount or something, but what about like a component setup from kicker? all 4 door speakers hooked to a kicker amp along with the pioneer headunit. will we have some good sound/bass out of just some door speakers and amp for them? let me see some ideas for a system from you vert guys!

That would sound great, and is what I ran for a while, only with Image Dynamics speakers.
Right now I am running two Image Dynamics 6.5" speakers up front, with a 10" Image Dynamics sub in a custom fiberglass enclosure. That sounds 10 times better than all four speakers amped IMO.

I highly recommend Image Dynamics btw.

Does anyone EVER use the back seat in the spyder? If not I'd build a box like Tim's, but put it behind the drivers seat.
Putting a sub in the trunk of a 'vert is a massive hassle. There's a lot more crap dividing the trunk from the passenger compartment in convertables that requires you to make a much bigger sub setup than a normal car would require. Not to mention the annoyance of wiring crap back there.
