As I put my car back together for what feels like the millionth time I find myself in a quandry. What should I do about the front end?

The car is a 95 Eclipse and I've got all the parts to swap the rear to a 2gb if I want to, but I'm missing most of the front bumper pieces because they were damaged in the fire last year and the donor car's front end was smashed. So all I have to work with currently is a set of 2ga headlights that I've baked and painted the housings black (wiki writeup coming soon!)

Should I keep the painted 2Ga lamps and go with a 2Ga smiley face or sell the lamps and purchace 2Gb lamps and a 2Gb bumper cover? Bumper covers cost the same so price there isn't an issue.

This is how the car currently sits.

It's getting a repaint to mazda highland green. It's the best green I've found shy of going crazy with HOK candy paints and a million coats like widebody Mike (I don't have that kind of patience)

I realize this is one of those questions where I'll get more answers than I really need but there are many of you guys here that I really respect your opinions, so fire away

thats all i could find with 2ga headlights

Why did i turbo a 420a? Why is your 4g63 smoking in a ditch?

go the 95-96 route for now, have your 2g up and running. You could always switch over to a picnic table or 2gb later.

I like that green, my older sister owns a denali painted the same color.

Actually the front bumpers aint bad, from those links.

Ugh. I should have stated in my original post...

NO BODY KITS!

If I go 2Ga I might use one of the ebay front spoilers like this one but I wish I could see it on a car before I made my decision

Make it Smikey if you want it run!

Or go 2gb if you can get the parts readily.

Also, Malachi needs to run again!

This.

So true

I'm currently leaning towards staying 2Ga since I wouldn't have to change the rear and those baked/painted 2Ga headlamps are gonna look tits anyways. I can keep the 2Gb rear from the donor car in storage for a bit in case I decide later I want to change it. I'll only pay about $50 for front bumper covers anyway (if you count a side trip to a restraunt near the certifit depot then it's more like $75)

You asked for 2ga bumpers, you could always cut and fiberglass a 2gb bumper.

Once I figured out what you were saying, I actually kinda like the idea. Using a 2gb bumper and trimming it to fit the larger 2ga headlamps.

Hmmmm emoji

Might be a stupid idea but the 2gb talon front bumpers match 95-96 headlights and I think those front bumpers look awesome. you could always smooth out the eagle logo on it too.

LEFT FIELD!

Sell the 2GB rear end bits to cover the cost of the 2GB fronts. There isn't a whole lot of difference between the rear ends, but the front is a major refreshing. You can redo the rear when you're ready.

Smilies are very cool, almost OG these days, so there's merit to going that route, but if your heart's set on a 2GB front end, might as well do what needs done to complete the car.

Fixed for truth.

Edit: Talons used the 2ga lights for all model years.

You had me at OG

This is actually the kind of advice I was looking for. I really think the blacked out lamps will look tits with a dark green car. Thanks B.

I was also looking at my damaged 2gb fronts and I don't feel confident enough in my body skills to cut and shape a 2gb front to 2ga lamps
