#103838, "how to test / fix up power door lock actuators?"
So am trying to get the door locks working properly. I've just replaced a busted handle, but the mechanism itself was also acting wonky.
After some effort I extracted the whole mechanism from the door.
Any suggestions on how to test it to make sure its working properly? (assuming that I didn't wreck it in the process of getting it out, which was a btch to do...)
I was going to de-gunk it with some sort of aerosol cleaner and then lube it back up before re-installing it. I've cracked open the motor housing, and it looks pretty good in there (no dirt the screw mechanism seems in good shape).

I don't remember the wiring, but when the door locks stop working they usually just need a good cleaning of the moving parts or the connector contacts (e.g, the internal motor is not at fault.)
Those things are a major PITA to remove, but there is a technique to pulling them out of the outside of the door.
