The car has not ran for probably three years....and now I can't seem to open the hood. When popping it from inside the lever does not have alot of resistance and no popping sound is heard. I have tried pushing on the hood, fiddling with the latch with a small screwdriver(nearly impossible), going back and forth from the inside lever to the front of the hood several times.
Any ideas? Anyone else had similiar problems? Is there a way to look at the latch from underneath?
In my frustration I have smoked a pack of cigarettes, thrown tools through the wall, burned things on my fire, and raised enough ruckis to piss the neighbors off. Now I have come to my last resort and am consoling with my brethren at 2gnt. FYI, I am not a BANME!...Have built motors before and am a machinist by profession.

+1 on that. Also you can try to pull the cable under the dash with pliers or small vice grips. It might give you a longer pull than what the lever is allowing. Squirt some lube under the hood too with a nozzle spray if you can.

Yea I will check it now...
I got the hood open with one of my buddy's help. While he was pulling the lever inside I pushed and pulled and findly unhooked it after spraying some WD-40 in there.
You can live without food for a couple weeks, live without water for a couple days, but you cannot live without hope for more than a couple seconds.
