Whenever I hit anything, no matter how big or small my sunroof sounds like it is about to fall off. It rattles like crazy. It gets 20x worse when the thing is open. Anyone had the same problem? Anyone fix it?

sounds like your screws are loose where the sunroof glass is connected to your tracks....

There are 3 screws on each side of the sunroof when it is closed down on your roof all the way. I think they are allen-wrench screws. Tighten those and then use a LITTLE bit of gear oil or some other light-weight lubricant in the tracks you see from the top when you reopen the sunroof after tightening the screws. Whew! That was one hella-va run-on sentence!

Their torx screws that hold the glass on. If that doesn't work, you'll have to take the glass out. There are bracket things that hold the tracks down and they're very poorly designed. I don't know how to describe their looks, but they're near the middle of the track. Tighten those and try that. That's why mine rattles and even with them tightened as good as I can, there's too much clearance and it still shakes. But....that's another place to look if you have to.

sounds like a common problem. i was looking at a 99gs about a year ago to replace my current car and whenever i shut the door from the outside, the sunroof popped up and looked like it was about to come out.
