I was wondering does anyone know how much the stock hatch weighs? With the glass in and without?

I'd venture to guess somewhere in the 70-90lbs range with the glass. It's more than the hood. I know that much. Only way to know for sure would be to take it off and weigh it.

wasn't it decided that most of the weight is in the glass? I thought a couple people bought the carbon fiber hatches and said that with the glass installed they didn't really cut that much weight.

I could have sworn it was weighed by someone here and the hatch itself was about 45lbs. This was from a discussion regarding the carbon fiber hatch. The way i saw it, the CF one wasnt worth the money unless you have a Lexan rear window.

id have to say for the prices they charge for carbon fiber, which in my opinion is all really really expensive... enless ur in races or anything, thats my same opinion for with the carbon fiber body kits and trunks... just my .02 but definitly interested to find the weight

SOB! I JUST did a search on this on tuners and I can't remember the numbers! EFing senility. Terry is close on the hatch 40 to 45 and the glass was like 30 - 35 believe it or not. Eh, do a quick search on dsmtuners.com and the real numbers are there. Sorry.
