Do you have any tools of your own? I mean, are you planning on fixing these problem's yourself?

Start off by buying a chiltons or haynes manual. These will teach you the interworkings of the car. With a basic tool-set from wal-mart or the equivalent in mexico (not sure if there is one, but I know you can get wares for cheap there in any instance), you should be able to do a lot of tasks.

No to help cover some of your problems.

The white smoke usually means there is a water/antifreze leak. Blue means oil, and black means running rich.

What year is your car? If it is 95-97ish then you can do a thing called the "Key Dance". You can read about the Key Dance and other PCM Error codes here. If not, do you guys have auto-zone or shucks or anything like that? *I feel so stupid right now, I have never been to mexico though*. Bottom line, find out what that code is fast, it could provide you with the information to stop some of the "noises".

i live in mcallen, if you come here go to a place called Stutz Auto Repair. That guy is good at what he does, I had the same problem with my brakes grinding as I drove, and he fixed it right the first time. Very good prices. I dont remember exactly what the diagnosis was, too long ago to remember.
