I know i know, kinda a dumb question lol. I noticed that my engine bay is really really dirty, and i've never cleaned it. Should i just spray it out with a hose, and should i cover the battery, and other stuff???????? Thanks Deze

You can buy degreaser spray it on, let it sit and hose it off.
I just don't like to get any more water in the engine bay by the wiring than I have to. I clean it by hand. use degreaser on a towel or spray it on the area and wipe it off.

Use engine Gunk. Just spray it on the engine. Try to avoid wires but it's electrical safe. Just let it sit for a couple hours then idle your car with the hood open for another hour or until the Gunk dries. You won't need to do ANY wiping just let it dry. Afterward you will be rewarded with a very nice engine that took almost no effort.

I've cleaned my engine bay almost every time I clean my car since the first day I get it. When I clean it, I mean spray it with water, but I try not to spray the electrical stuff. Then when its really dirty, I spray a little degreaser on it. Water wont hurt your engine, so don't be afraid to spray it off every once in a whil Late

The engine should be warm, not cold or hot. And the best stuff i ever used to clean my engine, better than gunk, was this kit that target sells. It has degreaser and detailer and it was the best stuff i ever used. I just used gunk recently and there was no comparison.
