#102051, "What can I use to put in the seam between the headliner and this?"
So I have a CF headliner that the previous owner had cut a DIN-sized hole in to. The most usable item I could find to put there was the scangauge (had the proper depth of less than 2") Anyways the width and height was a little too small so I fab'd up a plexiglass cover with DIN dimensions to make it fit:
I extended the OBDII cable another foot so that it'll reach the proper location in my headliner. Now I gotta do just one more thing - install it but put something over the seam between the cover and the headliner. I went through home depot and michaels during lunch one day but no ideas came up.
Any ideas gents?

That's tough. Can the plexiglass be bigger than the hole creating a faceplate look? You could sand a nice little radius on the edges for a finished look.

The BEST looking thing in my opinion would be to get some clear resin and lay it over the glass and work it into the body line of the headliner, probably not what you wanted to hear but its what I think would be best, worst come to worst you could fab up a trim ring to fit around it out of some ABS plastic or somthing...

black silicone tubing slit down one side lengthwise then glued over the edge of the plexi

thnx guys
Can't make a plexiglass a little bigger than the hole, b/c the contour of the headliner would make the edges stick out too much
fogster: I thought about cutting a piece of tubing and putting it on the edge, but do you mean cutting it in half and then gluing it over the seam to make a bezel-like thing? hmmm didn't think of that
slo: I don't know what kind of resin you are talking about, but I was eyeballing the transparent silicone I have to see if I could mold something. man that seems like it would be so hard to lay down nicely. Maybe I can get someone who puts the frosting on fancy cakes to do it
