#101974, "Flash to Pass mod?"

anybody know of a way to bypass the low beams from coming on when you flash your high beams?

its no big deal when my low beams are on to begin with, but during the day when i do it it lights up my HiD's and i dont want to risk ruining the balasts by flashing them.

one other idea i had was to just use a set of strobes that can be controled similar to the programable police lights so i can get a nice "flash to pass" pattern and not mimic cop takedown lights

The high beams require the low beams to be on first in order to work. You will either need to power the high beams separately or install a delayed-on feature for the HID ballasts between where the power splits to the low and high beams.

I eliminated the entire issue and drive with my lights on as DRL. They are wired to turn on a few seconds after the engine starts and don't turn off until a few seconds after the engine turns off.

Check out my "Flash-to-pass" mode.

Dude that video is sweet as hell you need to sell a kit I bet you'd make a pretty penny on the taillights and reverse lights alone. I would buy a kit from you lol.

you wouldn't be the first to ask him that emoji

He has a writeup on hidplanet.com in the LED forum section, when you figure the cost it took him to get them just right you'll understand why he doesn't.

I'd buy a set of boards and instructions (what and where to buy, as well as wiring directions) if he'd sell those fairly inexpensively.

EZ did an amazing set too, he used narrower angle LED's that create a cool effect around the edges. His writeup is on hidplanet as well
