wondering if anybody has bought a duraflex body kit? How did it fit, was it junk etc... I was stupid and got a shitty fiberglass kit. Wondering if the duraflex is any better or if i should cough up an extra $300 for urethane? At least with the duraflex i can probably re fiberglass and stuff to make it fit.

Oh man. I used to sell those. The people at Duraflex are good guys, but here's the simple fact of the matter:

If you aren't spending at least $1500 on a body kit, you're getting a knock off. Period.

The kits sold for under $1000 are mass produced as cheaply as possible in order to capitalize on people not actually interested in true performance. Not so much that they don't want fast cars, but that they don't have the money to actually make a car fast. It's a total poseur thing. Everyone in the industry knows it. A lot of people who called in for a turbo kit for their cars and then found out there either wasn't one available or didn't have $3500-5000 to spend on one went right to "What body kits you got?" Body kits are dumb.

If that's not enough to discourage you, consider that your typical vendor is making 30% or more on each kit, not including the shipping they charge you. One of the brands I used to sell offered complete kits for $299. We made 40% on those. That means the entire kit actually cost less than $120. Would you go Christmas shopping for your wife or girlfriend at one of those "Everything's $1" stores? It's the same thing.

If you want a kit that won't get you clowned, you need to be looking into APR or the like. Drop $2000 on a kit and then another $2000 on paint and prep and people will be able to tell the difference right away. (Just make sure you've got the power to back it all up when it's done.)
