Today, I sprayed the engine bay finally to match the rest of the car. Came out awesome...I will get some pics up tomorrow of everything unmasked.

Also, I was supposed to work out a deal with Mike (AMM) to have a custom intake manifold made for me, and that kind of fell through, so I ended up scoring a Venom manifold off of ebay about a month ago for a good deal. It was orginally anodized blue in color, looked pretty sweet actually, but I scuffed it down and sprayed it black and has the matching VENOM color to my paint.

Then I also decided, why not make the sc61 look a little evil, so the compressor housing is now gloss black. I also had the turbine ceramic coated black as well.

Tomorrow I will be going into work on my day off to build the short block emoji

Hell of a lot of work huh? I can appreciate the effort it takes to change colors under the hood. Looks great!

This is my X project...used to be dark green last month.

Thanks. I've got the new engine about ready to go in and there's no better time to detail under the hood. I'm not re-installing the old sound-proofing on the firewall. I like it plain white. I know I'll give up a little comfort but I'll have filled mounts and no balance shafts either so big deal.

I'm using a new (to me anyway) Sherwin Williams single-stage eurethane called Genesis M (fleet paint). Loving it so far. Lays down really nice and is very easy to mix small portions for smaller jobs. Very glossy too. No clear-coat required and seems very resistant to chemicals.

Note: This paint is not for everyone but for a simple non-metallic white it is what I wanted.

I would have let the engine bay black, makes it alot less work when doing color changes.

What type of airgun and equipment are you using? I want to start experimenting with paint on my Odyssey before I try anything on the eclipse. I already have an air compressor.

I use a typical Snap On 1.8mm tip HVLP for primers, a Devilbiss Finishline 3 1.5mm tip for bases and clears. Then I also use a Devilbiss Finishline mini HVLP gun with a 1.3mm tip for small painting, like my valve cover, piping, etc...
