Ok, I know I'm going to get flamed for this question, but I honest searched this site as well as 2gnt and couldnt/ cant seam to get my narrow band fuel gauge to work.....I rather have a wideband, but can't aford one right now, but this is better than nothing.

Can anyone explain to me how to hook this up? I know the red wire gose to a good power, the black to a good ground.......where dose the other wire go?
I tried to look for the ECU and found it I THINK bedhind the fuse bock under the stearing wheel, but its a pain to get to.

I still need to hook up my oil gauge too, but I figure one question at a time. emoji

Any help would be really great...I just started learning how to work on autos and I love it, but with MUCH to learn....Love this site!!

So I hook the other wire into pin 20 on the ECU.......or just find the black and white strip wire and tab into that?
Also, where is the ECU exactly? Under the stearing wheel?

And sorry about posting in two sections

Pop the hood.

That silver thing that looks like a heatsink infront of your driver's side strut tower bar with two large plugs with wires comming off it, that's your ecu.

Goodnight sweetheart...yes its time to go...bum bum bum bum bum...good night sweetheart yes I am one little a$$hole......bum bum bum bum....

Ok, let me see if I got this straight before I go getting in over my head and screwing something up. lol
The ECU is under the hood. The ECU is right next to the battery and the ECU has a protective metel sheild around it, right? I disconnect the ECU plug, look for the white and black wire and tab the wire into that pin, right?

like this

you can see my taps off to the left. i used bullet conectors and a jump wire so that if i need to remove a set of wires to trouble shoot somthing its easy to isolate an added component

Ok, Ill try and do that...Hook the purple wire to the white wire with the black strip.
Im so such a newbie...lol
Ill let u know how it works out....Oh, and thank you so much for the picture, dude. That helped alot.
Looks like instead of connecting directly into the wire the pin gose into you may of sliced the black and white wire and tabed it that way.

Personally I'd go a little farther than foggy did and take a little more time and get some weather tight connectors. wouldn't want anything getting shorted out.

yeah sorry for the "Non-neat" approach but i am in the process of ripping out a bunch of stuff and redoing things so i needed a stable yet temporary solution that i could reverse.

"Hopefully" this summer it will all be locked down and pretty with weather tight conectors and heat shrink wraping all around.
either way it will look MUCH better then this

trust me, you learn a lot about doing it right the first time when your redoing the stuff you half-assed your way through when you were younger and stupider
