#100067, "Headliner Sag Due To Tinting Windows??????"

Ok I don't know if this is what caused it but I have two eclipses’ (96GS & 99RS) that have never had the windows tinted. About two months after I bought (didn't buy at the same time) the cars I had all the windows tinted limo black out at 2 different shops. My RS started sagging about 1 month after its tint job. My GS started sagging about 2 weeks after its tint job.

I was just wanting to know if this could have caused it or not.....

Dude... I can't believe you could even consider than...then again...

The only thing tinting would *possibly* change would be the inside temperature of the car(while the windows are up), more specifically, they would make the inside of the car a bit cooler since less sun rays are coming in. So unless the heat made the glue (or what ever adhesive the headliner uses) stick better, and the colder interior made it break down... that idea makes no sense.

Maybe for some reason the people at the tint shops removed your headliners? and used sub-par glue/procedures when putting it back? Maybe its just coincidence? Any abrupt changes of weather (temperatures) where you live lately?

In reality I have no idea what I'm taking about, but I know that the sole act of placing a semi transparent plastic film on your windows won't by itself make your headliner sag.

Well when I had it done there was no changes in weather just a constant 98 to 102 temp. I don't know if the first shop took the headliner down or not. All I know is they said they didn't. I watched the second shop and they didn't take it down.

The only thing I know about headliners is that they have some nasty stuff under them that gets every where and it sucks when they drop...

Does any one on here make fiberglass or carbon fiber headliners????

There is no stupid question!!! Just people that don't have as much knowledge as other people.....

Yes, some places make fiber glass and CF headliners, run a search here or on google to find them. My car is a 95, and I cover it every night, so if a tint makes the HL sag, my interior should be falling apart.
