Nov-11-07 05:01 PM by Nightfall

Just wanted to share my progress with everyone. Hope you enjoy emoji
Here's the engine the way it was

After a little paint

Wrapped downpipe and sprayed manifold with copper stuff. Replaced all gaskets and replaced bolts with studs. Turbo/manifold gasket part #ES72811 from Advance Auto emoji

And fabbed a heat sheild for the turbo

Also wanted to let the turbo breathe a little better so I had 3in run from the dp to a Greddy muffler with no cats or converters. It has a 3in inlet and 5in tip, it's huge. Had to go under the frame with the piping too.

Now I have something in the rear as low as the front.

It has a very nice sound, doesn't sound ricer-ish at all. Just a nice deep hollow tone.
Now I just need to finish polishing my valve cover and fiberglass the lower sections on my door panels emoji

They're just open in the back for now, I plan on fiberglassing/sealing it up, smoothing out the stock grill and painting the lower section black next weekend.

I thought my engine bay was clean too. Where did you find the pot for the heat shield? I need to get one on mine asap. Your car is clean as hell too!

Dude, that looks crazy clean. I wish my paint had that luster still.

But yeah, the speaker door panel thing looks odd. Nice work getting it going from your wreck you had previously.

couple of questions thought, with that muffler, is it a under axle cat back exaust? and if it is, does it kinda come out at an angle due to it going under the rear cross member? i love that exaust!!!!
