As the title says I traded the multi colored eclipse and I got a 1998 Eagle Talon ESI that just needs a timing belt (No bent valves) I also recieved a 1982 camaro with a 350 bored 30 over (355) and some cash. Anyway here are some pics of the talon

Minor surface strut tower rust I am going to just use a wire wheel or something then paint it with rust preventer, it isnt all the way through the tower.

A few pics of the camaro just to show you guys, its not pretty but its quick, Honestly though I have been offered a GST that needs a head for it so I am thinking.

Anyway, The talon is getting the motor pulled and over winter im building it right for turbo, it is an auto and I might consider a MTX swap. The stock front bumper is staying on it becuase I think its a awesome looking bumper, and I will probably find a decent looking rear bumper because I dont like the stock one, I will also be looking for 2gb sideskirts as well. As far as paint I think its just going to get a nice new back paint and maybe some decals on the sides.
Anyway im sure many of you will be happier with what im doing here.
Let me know what you think. I know I lost out on the deal but the eclipse was boring me.

Trade for the GST, trade for the GST!!!!!! Heads for those cars are easier than the ones for ours. Fix the timing belt and daily drive the Talon and then put the build into the GST.

I agree. I probably should have never done it but all well. As far as kitting that wont be done I really like the front bumper on this talon, Although the rear bumper is just missing something lol. I am going to go with some 2gb side skirts.

I dont know why everyone thinks this is such a bad deal. You got two cars for one ugly ass car, I think u came out alright. Ths will give you the oppritunity to build another 2g (without ruining it) and still have some donut fun with the camaro. The engine bay on the camaro is pretty clean man. I do agree that the Talon will be alot of work. I would DD the Chevy, park the bird, and put the escort out of it's misery. Just my .02

Park the talon use your fiance's stratus as DD share it or use a bike lol.
Sell the escort and camero use the cash for your talon.
You could've bought my extra 97-99 front bumper for 20-40ship for your multi colored eclipse. Would have to do a meet perhaps norwalk, Im not too far from there. Your eclipse was better you built the motor plus its mtx, now you have to do it all over again.

I bet it is. Poke it with a scrwedriver a few times, and I bet you will get a big hole.

Well its not showing through underneath but that might just be because of the undercoating or whatever. It does look like its been patched ones before but not protected properly. Not a big deal ill get it fixed.
I know I have to do the motor build all over but ill be honest I really enjoy building these motors.
I am actually already wanting to get rid of the camaro its got alot of unseen rust that I didnt spot.
As far as the escort I know its a pooper but it drives very very nice and its a great reliable DD. My fiances stratus is getting a bit rough, if that motor ever blows though I have a fun motor to build for the talon
I am now trying to decide where I want to go with this talon I think I want to make it a good 1/4 mile car, so now I must choose parts.. Not sure what I want to do as far as long rod or short rods, low compression pistons or not. I wanna make this motor crazy strong and quick, I may also be attempting a MTX swap I still have the old tranny out of the eclipse that has bad 2nd gear synchros I could rebuild it and throw a good LSD setup on it. I will be turboing this talon for sure and I have made the decision to use megasquirt.
I will be honest I dont really like the rear bumper I want to find a decent looking bumper without making the car look bad and of coarse it has to be polyurathane im done with fiberglass its crap my front bumper was already damaged pretty bad. I will be finding some 2GB sideskirts for it though and like I said the front bumper is a keeper its sexy and I cant go wrong with it.
Also are 98 talons really the rarest as wikipedia said?

So basically you traded your perfect running car for two rust buckets. Man you got the shaft with no vaseline. All you had to do to your old car was throw some stock bumpers on it and get it repainted. And if you wanted a project car to work on since you say you like rebuilding the 420a motor you should have just offered whoever sold you the talon $300-$500 for it.

No its not me its a friend of mine that helped me tow the car. If it makes you laugh harder hes a security gaurd at a movie theater and a bank, he gets called paul blart movie cop quite frequently.

Well I got this car running threw the timing belt on and it fired right up and sounds perfect. Tranny shifts smooth and perfect and while working on it I found out it has brand new factory shocks and struts and cv shafts. The previous owner must of liked paying a dealer alot to work on the car because all of the replacement parts are dealer. Only problem I have now is that I cracked the radiator while towing it home so im trying to find one but these cars are amazing stock lol, I have NEVER driven or rode in a stock 2gnt.
