I am eyeballing a 90 AWD with a cyclone motor swap. other than the intake having a long runner and short runner combined in one intake what else is unique about the motor?

Sometimes they come from either Galant VR-4s or Evos. If they do, they usually do have the red valve cover with the 16g and larger injectors as has already been stated.

The only thing that really makes a Cyclone 4G63 different is the intake manifold which has two runners combined to help increase low end torque without sacrificing top end power. The runners are controlled by a set of butterfly valves which are operated by vacuum actuators much like the stock turbos. In order for the manifold to work properly, you will have to set up the valves properly with a good actuator. They rarely come with the engines, so rigging a 14b actuator will work fine.
