#9314, "550cc with 2G MAS"

I know that I posted a debate about fuel setups earlier but I read on DSMtooners that 550cc with the 2G MAS will work but it will be running rich???

If it is rich, What will be the estiamted A/F ratio at WOT? Considering I have a TDO5 20G...?
I wasn't sure on this and I found it under a old post under search. The reason for the 2G MAS is because I found 2 of them at my local junkyard while looking for other parts...It will be a hell of a lot easier to put in injectors and new MAS, then rewiring all of the other crap.

Thanks for the help!!

I think running rich with a 20G/550 setup would be the least of your worries...
Want some good advice? Spend more time in this forum and stay away from "t00ners"....................
BTW: 2G MAS flows more than a 1G.

If you just put in 550's without any fuel management, it will run rich. You need some sort of monitoring/adjustment device (SAFC at a minimum). With a stock ECU, it will deliver the same info to the 550's as it did the 450's in terms of pulse etc. The 550's are 22% larger so therefore, you'll be running 22% richer than stock. Without being able to adjust that, yes, relative to stock you'll just be rich, but with that turbo, that 22% increase won't effectively compensate for that HUGE turbo.

Also of note: The 2g MAS only has to do with the highest amount of air that can be metered (it can read more than a 1g MAS). It just allows you to run a larger turbo and higher boost without losing count of the air entering the engine. It is a de-restricing mod (I.E. exhaust, IC piping, porting) that allows you to do other things but does nothing by itself.

Also, running a 20G/550 injectors combo means you'll likely want to save a few thousand dollars for an engine rebuild. Those injectors are FAR too small for a turbo that size and the fact that you have no fuel management is even more dangerous. Be careful.

Will you have the AFC installed at this time (I know you mentioned it before as something you have in possession but not in the car). That would make it somewhat safer to run minimum boost but still with those injectors, there just isn't enough fuel present for that turbo and the air it flows. More fuel.

It's running again shitheads.
