As some of you may remember from a previous post, I was having
problems holding boost. I had John Shepherd look at it when he
was working on my tranny and it turned out that I had a bad
MBC. Everything runs great now.. new tranny.. holds boost
..so..now I'm ready to tune. Took a 3rd gear log today and
this is what I have .. I just wanted to make sure I'm reading
all of this right before I go making changes. It looks like
I'm lean until around 4200 rpm..correct? the questions i have
are about my timing... I thought it was supposed to be linear
(starting out kinda low and then building up) how does my
timing look?
SAFC Hi-throttle is set to -30 across the board 1000-8000rpm
and btw..this is on 14-15psi on an evoIII16G with 550s and a
walbro 255..

you might be lean or knocking a little. can you log just a few things. take off speed and fuel trim stuff. probly even mph. that will up the count of the logs you do take. you might log knock while your in there, that would rule out knock or make it a sure thing.

We can't log knock on 2g's. You kinda have to guess by the timing... edit: After reading the original post again, I noticed that you have your SAFC set to -30 across the board? You need to fix that dude. You can see that timng was starting to get pulled and then starts advancing after the o2 voltage got to around .92. You can even go a little more. 2G's like to run around .96ish. If I were you, I'd set it up per RRE's initial setting page and then make SMALL adjusments from there going by your logs. http://www.roadraceengineering.com/newafcsetting.htm
You should be up around -20 to -21 ish. Those settings are for a big 16G and your EVOIII will be pushing a tad more air... edit#2 lol. Also change the safc to have a 5.5K rpm increment. You'll need that more than 8K rpms when doing fine tuning.

i thought the 2g link could log knock?
