you have seen the ms controlling fuel on a dsm. but have you seen spark? first one in the world was completed tonight by some friends and i was there to video and take pics of it starting up for the first time. soon to be a tech article on it, and mine will soon be doing the spark/fuel setup by ms. you may or may not know, but megasquirt is a standalone system that does what an aem standalone does, but for far cheaper. it actually does more then an aem standalone emoji. more about this is on dsmtuners. any questions please send to dieselgeek or prez on tuners. see ya.

Yeah, but that was using an EDIS system with a pulley-mounted trigger wheel. It's now possible to control spark using the 4G63 crank sensor and cam sensor only. Really cool stuff. Looks like the 420A's no longer have the "MegaSquirt advantage" over the 4G63's.

nope, I realize the guy that used the wheel decoder but unless this is kevins Friend (could be), this was the first 1g MS'ed (stock cas sensor i should say) and it was done on the 9th.

There's no need to get into an AEM vs. MS argument in this thread. Let's keep it on topic. Everyone has there own opinion... I think he was just referring to more features on the MS, not that it's neccessarily better. Honestly, each controller has it's advantages and disadvantages.

All he said is that it is far cheaper and does more... he never said it was better. Don't you think it's cool that the MegaSquirt can now control fuel, spark, boost, AFR targets, traction control, nitrous control, water injection, datalogging, knock input, EGT input, shift lights, IAC control, fan control, dual switchable tables, fuel pump, and much more? Cool, right?

It does a hell of a job, it'su sed on some of the worlds fastest cars, and you can build one for under $200 if you know what you're doing. So really... it is cheap, it does more, and it may be better. It's a matter of opinion really.
