#7993, "2g pistons/1G rods (split from "appearance" post)"

I remember hearing a while back about some non-forged pistons that were supposed to have the 2g compression ratio, but be fitted to the 1g big rods, anybody know about this? If I can't find these I'll just get the 2g pistons and have my rods machined down, anybody have an estimate on the machineing cost? Thanks again

That is what you do. It doesn't cost much to get the rods machined. I don't have any figures off-hand though.

yep, like Jeff said. Stock 2G pistons, stock 1G rods. Take them to a machine shop and tell them to make them play nice. Some places will charge more than others but it's not a tough job and shouldn't cost much.

It cost me $35 a rod to have them machined to fit my 2g pistons. People charge different prices so shop around.

Yes I know the thing to do is have the rods machined, but I read somewhere that a company was making the 2g pistons that were designed to fit the 1g rods as they are in stock form. Has anybody else ever heard anything about this?
