can anyone please tell me if the 7 bolt sprocket will fit and work with the 6 bolt engine? i cracked the 6 bolt spocket and have a 7 bolt laying around. just need to know. thanks for any help in advance.

well i don't mean to question you, but ? i have people that say yes, and then i have you telling me no. could you elaborate a little please? are you 100% positive that it won't work?

The sprocket itself will bolt up, however, the timing marks are located differently between 1g/2g sprockets. So your timing will not be correct and will have tuning/driveability issues.

but aren't the timing marks on the plate that BEHIND the sprocket? i'm not changing that, just the sprocket itself.

That's true. I remembered some people discussing this at NABR and thought they said it couldn't work, so I researched it and you'll be fine.
