#7321, "6 bolt motor questions"

Im doing a 6 bolt swap on my latest project and I was wondering how to tell if the 6 bolt motor came from an auto or manual car. From the research I have done,

The auto 6 bolt has 390cc inj, td04 turbo and smaller cams

The manual 6 bolt has 450cc inj, and tdo5h turbo

The engine I have right now has 450cc injectors in it AND the td04 turbo. Is there another way to find out if this motor came from the auto or manual vehicle because it has characteristics of both?

This motor is going in an auto talon so i already know i need this:

Those are pretty much the only differences. (motor wise)

I would guess it was from an auto that upgraded the injectors. I doubt anyone would downgrade their turbo.

Why does it make a difference which one it is from?

Actually, there is one (very) important difference between the 2: Any motor out of an automatic FWD (incuding DSM's) will have this ring around the crank:

This NEEDS to be removed if the block will be going into a manual (or AWD I would imagine, auto or not). If not, the flywheel will do just that and go flying emoji Other than that, it doesn't matter what used to be on it, just what you are going to put on it.

That's just what I needed, thank you. Upon further investigation, the motor did indeed come out of an auto dsm. Are the cams in the auto motors really that much smaller or is there not a significant difference?

I have no idea what the specs are, but I believe the auto cams were made to produce more low end tourque, but less up top. If you are really worried about it, I will be replacing my cams very soon and you can have my stock 2g cams for cheap.
